Mark Dickerson
Banjo & Guitar Instructor

Text Mark for Lessons

Mark Dickerson has a BS in fish and wildlife science, and is a really funny guy! Having taught over 950 banjo students and 300 guitar students in his expansive 43-year teaching career, you are looking at one of the best teachers in our area. Using the Hal Leonard method books, Mark has a unique way of making his students feel comfortable as he tailors each lesson to their needs. “I try to make lessons fun and interesting so the student will gain knowledge on their instrument quickly.”

Mark loves playing music around the campfire, helping people learn an instrument, and performing in a band. His wife’s meatloaf is his favorite food and he tells great and funny jokes..... (at least he thinks they are funny!)

Mark’s musical influences include the guy who taught him to play banjo at age 13, Gary Wiley, Earl Scruggs, and older (70’s) Rick Springsteen. His favorite song is Hotel California by The Eagles.

You can reach Mark by text to inquire about lesson availability.
