While relatively new to Montana, Jayne is no stranger to the piano, having played for over 50 years. She saw the original Star Wars movie in the theater 7 times, lived in Germany for 4 years, and has been teaching piano for 20 years. “My approach is customized for each student.  I am passionate about finding the right blend of music, education, and creativity to encourage a lifelong pursuit of the piano in every student.”

Jayne is a lifelong church pianist who’s able to teach styles of traditional church music as well as contemporary praise & worship music. She excels in teaching students how to play from lead sheets and embellish simple chords and arpeggiations to provide an appropriate fill for accompanying a praise band. “I like to think outside the box with my students to get their creativity flowing. This includes selecting music that interests them as they build basic theory and skills. In turn, they will want to practice and explore music further.” Accompanying is Jayne’s strong suit and she loves to mentor students in becoming accompanists.

When she’s not teaching, accompanying local choirs at the Hamilton Middle and High Schools, or the Hamilton Playhouse, or Bitterroot Valley Chorus; you might find her traveling, working on a puzzle or playing games. Jayne is a highly accomplished teacher, with an impressive resume having taught students in both English and German of all ages and abilities.
